Tumor-specific Antigens of Putatively Nonviral Tumors1

چکیده

anisms of the animals in which the neoplasms originate. Al most all of the putatively nonviral tumors are individually specific and few, if any, cross-reactions occur among them. The antigenic titer varies greatly and is related to the latent period and the immunologie reactivity of the tumor host. This rela tionship is almost certainly due to immunoselection. The an tigens are found in early premalignant lesions and the immune mechanism suppresses many of these before they reach macro scopic size and before they undergo progression to malignancy. It is hypothesized that the tumor antigens represent an altera tion in a normal cell-surface regulatory site or sites. Whether they are encoded but repressed in the genome of the normal cell or are the result of mutation has not been determined.

Therapeutic tumor immunity induced by polyimmunization with melanoma antigens gp100 and TRP-2.

To improve the immunogenicity of melanoma self-antigens, we used a novel strategy of nonviral genetic vaccination coupled with muscle electroporation. Electroporation-enhanced immunization with plasmids encoding either human gp100 or mouse TRP-2 antigens induced only partial rejection of B16 melanoma challenge. However, immunization with a combination of these two antigens caused tumor rejectio...

Occurrence of shared nonviral tumor-associated transplantation-type antigens among C3H/He mammary carcinomas.

The occurrence of shared nonviral tumor-associated antigens among 18 immunogenic C3H/He mammary carcinomas was investigated in vivo. By cross-immunization and s.c. challenge between pairs of tumors in 37 different combinations, six of the tumors were found to cross-immunize with one to three other tumors. A minimum of three different antigenic specificities were found to be shared among cross-r...

پروتئین شوک حرارتی؛ کاندید واکسن سرطان

Background: Tumor cells express antigens that can be recognized by immune system as foreign particles. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are molecular chaperones that bind to tumor antigens and mediate their uptake into antigen presenting cells. Methods: This articles is a review article and its data has been collected and categorized from the articles in the field of cancer immunotherapy. All the ar...

Uptake of Autologous and Allogenic Tumor Cell Antigens by Dendritic Cells

Background: Dendritic cells (DCs) are professional antigen presenting cells (APCs), and there is considerable interest in their application as a cellular adjuvant for cancer immunotherapy.  Previous studies indirectly demonstrated that DCs were able to take up tumor lysate (crude soluble tumor antigens) and also cross-present tumor associated antigens (TAA) which elicits anti-tumor immune respo...
